in which it was love at first dress

Photobucket

Sooooo, I went on a bit of a shopping spree (again) this past weekend. I stopped at Marshall's looking for a replacement for my (nearly full) morning journal, and ended up walking out with three dresses and a scarf (and no journal). I know I said in my 11 questions that I don't believe in love at first sight, but I certainly am a believer when it comes to clothes. And shoes. Anyway, this is one of those dresses where multiple remixes immediately flashed through my mind in the dressing room--there are so many ways to wear it! I wanted to wear it in this wintry way while it was still snowy and freezing cold--who knows how much longer I'll be able to wear this furry hat? (Not much, I hope...)

(dress: marshall's; hat: h&m; boots: seychelles)

I've been quite a bit less productive of late--my creativity seems to be stalling (I blame spring fever). I'm hoping to spend some time tonight working on sewing up a summery dress, but I am easily overwhelmed by how little I know about sewing and the fear of fouling it up... so we'll see. Wish me luck!

  1. I can never resist a tribal print either, i really like the dress and it's a good feeling to want to style it a lot of ways, hopefully means it will be a wardrobe staple. I'm sure the sewing will go fine. I'm a lazy sewer and things always go better for me when I decide to follow the instructions! Be intrigued to see what you are making.

And bah to productivity. I've been procrastinating like nobody's business this week...

  3. This dress is so cute!
Also I giggled a little about buying several dresses but no journal. I get so picky about things like that too. I finally caved a while ago and picked up some Moleskins, yes they are ridiculously over priced BUT I get the exact skinny, purse sized sketch book that I'm looking for (every time I need a new one)

  9. in love at first dress for sure! so cute. especially with that hat and your braids. I've always wanted one of those hats, but seems like a bit overkill for me to wear one down here in the south with our 40 degree winters. oh well.
