This is what I wore over the weekend to "celebrate" daylight savings. Except mostly I just like it because it reminds me of a daffodil--my favorite springtime flower!
(dress: goodwill; tights: h&m; shoes: seychelles; hat: vintage)
Daffodils
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

Aww the little flowers on the dress are so cute! I love the colour of the dress paired with the army green tights! And this little hat is so lovely, everytime you wear it in photos it looks like a huge bun at first sight! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's such a perfect buttery daffodil colour. As you know, I'm a fellow lover of yellow dresses, and I absolutely love that one. And also that you're wearing a spring dress with a fur hat. : )

Ps i'm having a little give away on the blog if you'd like to pop over :D xx
Awww, what a cool post! I know I've seen photos of daffodils surrounded by melting snow before...this instantly made me think of those images. Of course living in California, I've never seen any flowers poking out of the snow in real life.
