in which i like loafers (and loafing around)

Photobucket

So, it's Monday once again. I'm still getting used to the settings on my camera, so please bear with me... these are still a bit overexposed. This outfit was one of those that just came together without much stress or pain (there's something to be said for that on a Monday morning--maybe it's a sign that this will be a good week). At the last minute, I remember that I finally got my Lulu*s loafers from my mom this weekend (it's been quite the process, shipping to my parent's house back at the beginning of August, exchanging for a new pair at the very last minute, shipping to my parent's house again, and finally putting them on my feet). I think they bring the outfit together perfectly.

I had a great weekend, even though I went 0 for 2 on my "goals" and ended up being a bit of a bum instead (I'll allow it). Friday I was supposed to go out for karaoke with my gal pals, but was so completely burnt out at the end of an exhausting week that I rescheduled a hang-out for Saturday night, and spent the evening watching documentaries with K instead (Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work and 21 Up [third in the Up series--check it out, it's pretty fascinating]). I guess I'm on quite the documentary kick.

Saturday my mom and I went to Burlington to get new phones, and mine is so pretty I keep picking it up and looking at it. It's not fancy or anything, but it's so fresh and new :) I'm trading in all of my beat up old technological devices for shiny replacements! Anyway, we went out for some Mexican food and margaritas (always good fun--thanks mom!) and picked up my lady friends for a wine night back at my place. We skyped in our friend who is currently out in Portland, and had a lovely evening huddled around the living room with maybe a few too many bottles of vino. The next morning K joined in for brunch at On the Rise, and after taking them home I spent the rest of the day half-napping and watching old favorite films. So no running, no writing, but lots of good people and good times :) Sometimes that's more important anyway.

I definitely feel refreshed and rejuvenated, and I'm ready to take on this week (and so glad to be back in my yellow tights after a summerlong hiatus)!

  2. I love those heeled loafers! I saw them on Lulu's too and thought they looked really similar to a Jeffrey Campbell design, except these are a much better deal. Maybe in a week or two I'll become your loafer twin... ;)

I'm glad you had a relaxing weekend! ♥ I love how it's cloudy and wet in all your photos...it's been very sunny where I live and I just want some cloudiness and a little rain!

Love your blog and style, by the way. :)

  3. I'm so loving yellow tights right now, and the loafers are fabulous. So jealous of you dressing for cooler weather - we've just had a mini heatwave in England (unheard of in October) and I have new warmer clothes waiting to be worn!!

  6. It looks like this camera does the colours nice and bright! I'm not surprised you didn't write 5000 words this weekend; that's a totally insane goal! Plus, it sounds like what you did do was pretty awesome!

  9. These photos look great. Love the thick belt over the blazer I'm going to have to 'steal' this idea. And those shoes are awesome.
I kinda did the same thing on Sunday. I had all these big plans and was going to be SUPER productive and then I fell asleep on the couch watching Misfits with the boy and didn't wake up until 5 hours later. Whoops.
    I feel SO rejuvenated though.

  11. These don't look too over exposed. If thats a problem you're having, try the sports setting if you've got one. Its my "I dont have tiiiime!" setting. You look so autumnal and perfect in these shots. The colors are beautiful.
