in which i am a green monster

Photobucket

When I dreamed this outfit up in my mind the greens of the blazer and shorts were a lot more compatible. Oh, well. I purposefully paired these shoes with the blazer because they both have orange accents (I like sneaky matching like that). I think this sweater is so soft and lovely--I can't believe someone gave it away (the pack rat in me is appalled by some of the things I find in thrift stores)!

(blazer/sweater/shorts/belt: thrifted; shoes: poetic licence)

K and I still haven't gotten around to carving our funny pumpkin, so hopefully we have some time this weekend and find ourselves in the spirit. I am pretty excited for Project Runway tonight, and maybe a little bit of champagne :) We also need to watch some scary movies--I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to the whole horror genre (I like scaring myself less and less as I get older--does that mean I'm getting boring?), so I usually hold out until the actual night of Halloween to load up on terror (when the fear is tempered somewhat by an overdose of chocolate and candy corn). Monsters and bugs aren't a big deal, but mean ghosts and murderers scramble my nerves.

Do you like scary movies?

  1. I cannot handle movies with murderers or anything that involves someone violently invading your space...no thanks!
Ghosts on the other hand intrigue me...on another note this whole look intrigues me too...in an awestruck way!

    P.S. You find amazing blazers!

  2. I am amazed by some of the stuff people give away too. I love your blazer so much, the elbow patches and colours in it are so great. Such a wonderful mix with the shorts and sweater!!
I am still needing to carve pumpkins too, hopefully this weekend holds some pumpkin carving goodness

  3. I just thrifted a white turtleneck like this, I think yours looks great with a blazer, I may have to try it.
I am NOT a fan of the horror genre. Although I do like some suspense stories, we'll probably cave in and go see 'Paranomal Activity 3' too.
Two of my favorite 'creepy' movies were 'Let the Right One In' that pre-teen vampire flick and 'Time Crimes' which is Spanish and the BEST time travel movie I've ever seen. It was creepy and suspenseful without being really scary.

  5. I like OLD scary movies, because things look less real and I don't freak out. But now days horror movies would frighten me terribly. (I know this because just seeing the previews gives me chills)

Love your outfit. I think the blazer looks cute with the shorts :)

  6. I get much to freaked out by any sacry movies of the SAW variety, a little supernatural I can handle.I always end up watching hocus pocus on Halloween. I like how your shoes match you blazer.

  7. This is such a wonderful fall outfit! I love your blazer and shoes, and I think the colors all work together wonderfully. I haven't carved my pumpkin yet either! Though I think I'm planning to attempt to carve a cat pumpkin this year.

  12. I'm a fan of the older scary movies, not the blood and gore murder/torture porn rubbish you see these days.

As for your outfit, I give you a 10/10.

I love the turtleneck under a blazer with shorts look :)
