in which i say treats, please

Photobucket

Another lovely grey fall day, on the verge of rain. I'm not sure why I love this dress so much, but I do. It's such an incredibly awkward length, but the chiffon is so fun and flowy that it doesn't matter. I also love how the little keyhole cutout at the neck acts almost like an accessory in and of itself. Look at those leaves! They're piling up :)

(dress/belt: thrifted; hat/earrings: gift; cardigan: shopruche; boots: seychelles)

I was supposed to go away for a girl's weekend in upstate New York this weekend, but wacky work schedules got in the way and we're tentatively rescheduling. While I am bummed that it didn't work out, I am sort of looking forward to spending a quiet weekend at home and around town, picking and carving pumpkins, whipping up some soup, watching movies, and working late into the night on the novel. The next few weekends are already completely packed with good times, which is, well, good. But I do like to have time to unwind (I am INFP, after all).

Also, I had the best (homemade in the office--so i guess officemade?) caramel apple of my life for lunch today. My "lunches" this week have been out of this world--and all apple-based. People need to stop offering me these treats (though I'll take a treat over a trick anyday, thankyouverymuch)!

  2. Caramel apples at work sounds pretty good. That length suits you and goes really well with your boots.

  3. This dress is gorgeous on you. And that hat is just swell! The rain finally fell in my town and I think you are right, this weekend will be perfect for making soup. I love to make huge pots of cheap veggie soup during cold weather.

  4. the leaves are piling up here too and while I love the crunching sound under my feet all I can think about is the pile of snow that will soon replace them. So not looking forward to that.

  5. This dress is so great on you, it has such lovely movement and the cardigan over top is so perfect. I love the little hat too. Sometimes a low key weekend is necessary and just as fun! I plan on studying the whole time with pumpkin carving as a stress reducing technique ;)

Floaty dresses always feel so comfortable.
Pity you couldn't go to NYC. I'd kill to go but it's a long way to go for one weekend...

  9. I like the dress, and especially your hat. So cute. And by the way, whoever told you that you were too curvy to do ballet was crazy.
