I had a great weekend. Friday night I met up with friends for the First Friday Art Walk in Burlington, and we hung around drinking cosmos for a few hours before heading out into the world. We really only stopped at the S.P.A.C.E. gallery, since it was close and we had been so impressed by it at the Art Hop, but it wasn't nearly as exciting this time around. We ended up singing karaoke at St. John's Club, which was hilarious--definitely not the usual Burlington scene, which was much more my style (and by not the scene I mean a bunch of middle-agers who were totally into their karaoke--awesome). We sang and danced and had a great time, and I didn't get home until late late late.
The next day, K and I went into town to do some early Christmas shopping, and I waited at the Skinny Pancake while he got his hair cut. I read, and sipped my mocha, and basked in the warm sunlight, and it reminded me so much of those cozy winter days I spent holed up in cafes when I was in college, just reading, or observing, but always quiet, alone, and blissfully content.
Sunday was lovely in an altogether different way... more later!
There was this summer that I spent in the summer dorms and i remember walking to a local café every day and studying french and drinking mint tea... it was inspired. Your day sounded wonderfully delightful!
ReplyDeletekaraoke is the best way to spend a Friday night. I love it when the crowd is a little older. The young kids (oh gosh I feel old) tend to be too uptight while us old folks just let it rip.
ReplyDeleteHappiness indeed! What were you reading?
