in which and then the snow started falling

Photobucket

First came cold, then came snow! It's still rather warm and wet, but the fat flakes have been falling all day, and it's officially a winter wonderland around these parts. Pretty amazing how it can pile up overnight.

Today is a good day. It's the last day before the extended weekend, and K came into town to take me to lunch at Juniper's Fare, for a special little treat :) Tonight will be busy--I'm heading to the gym after work, and then baking an apple pie for the big day tomorrow. I am a little annoyed that the snow came before Thanksgiving... it won't go with my harvest-inspired outfit. Snow is decidedly December precipitation.

Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving (tomorrow) to my US readers! I will be eating all day.

I should just do a blog poll to determine what my next step in life should be. How does anyone ever decide what path to take?

Option A: TEFL certification - live&teach abroad - MA in Education - HS English teacher
Option B: MA in Creative Writing (Scotland? England?) - wing it ("it" being life)
Option C: Get a second job - work like a dog and save money - travel around the world
Option D: Start making films - be poor in the pocket but rich in creative fulfillment (hopefully)
Option E: Apply for a Fulbright that somehow combines my love of travel, writing, and cultural anthropology (wheels are turning...)

... or I could just keep on keepin' on, but my Sanity doesn't dig that idea.

In the meantime, I'll be doing polka dots this week. And maybe next week, too, since I got a late start. Hope you're all having fabulous Hump Days out there in the blogosphere!

in which i connect the dots

Photobucket

Hooray for navy blue and polka dots, one of my all-time favorite combinations! This outfit feels a little too close to Monday's get-up for comfort, but whatever. It's different. Best of all, I have a whole lot of polka going on. I've decided my new favorite thing is belting untucked shirts. I was going to tuck this one in, but my skirt is seriously too short when I pull it up to my natural waist and belt it instead of letting it hang on my hips. I like this better anyway.

I feel like I should officially change the name of my blog to "How to Wear the Same Shoes and Belt Every Single Day," because that's basically what I do. This is an unbeatable combination, which I will never tire of. I hope you guys won't tire of it, either. For someone with such a serious affection for footwear, it's kind of funny that I go back to Old Blimey day after day.

It has been absolutely beautiful here this week, and while the stunning sunshine does render about half of my outfit photos useless due to silly squinting faces (I am a MAJOR squinter--I squint even on overcast winter days), I must admit that the blue skies and lush greenery can't be beat :) Happy Hump Day, everyone! We're halfway there :)
